Hey Mamma, Treat Yo Self!

Happy May! Who is ready for sunny days & warmer temps? I know I am!

It is hard to believe May is upon us. I know this month is CRAZY for so many - Mother's Day, Teacher Appreciation, Graduation, school is ending, and the list goes on & on…

But as you run the race of life I want you to pause & think about how you are investing in YOUR health.

I am sure you have heard you can't pour from an empty cup…and sister it is true. So, what do ya do when life is crazy busy & you literally have ZERO extra time?

Below is a list of 5 things I recommend for you to do for YOU on a regular basis to help you maintain good health.

  1. Sleep. This matters more than you realize. You should aim to get an average of 7-9 hours of sleep each night.

  2. Drink water & electrolytes daily. Both are so important & I will chat more about the electrolytes in the near future…but for now strive to get at least 60 ounces of water each day AND if you can incorporate some electrolytes get some of those in each day too (Gatorade is an option, but not the best option…I like NUUN tablets & get them at Target).

  3. Move your body 10 minutes each day. Swim, walk, stretch, run, bike, lift…whatever you enjoy! Show up for YOU 10 minutes each day.

  4. Eat protein. Women should get about 90 g of protein each day. That is 30 g at each meal. This plays such an important role in our hormones, weight loss, muscle building and helps us to feel full.

  5. Take time to pray, meditate or be still each day. The world is noisy & when we are going 100 mph everyday, we need to practice this so we remember WHO we are & WHAT our purpose is.

I pray these 5 little tips will help you through this crazy busy season! Truly, these 5 things are gifts you can (and should) do for YOU (most days of the week). So TREAT Yo SELF my friend!
