Friday Favorites

It is my goal as a Wellness Coach and encourager to provide my followers with tools that will enrich their lives. The name of my blog & business, Motivated by MORE, was started because of the realization that we are all motivated by different things. If we are honest, we all long for more than just six-pack abs, a full bank accountant or a friend. At our core we want to be well, have security and friendships that are honest, trustworthy & faithful.

So, with this goal in mind, of helping you discover your MORE, I am going to share my Friday favorites…those things that have added value to my life. Sometimes they will be lighthearted & simple little things such as a favorite nail polish or kitchen gadget, other times the list may contain a scripture, book or podcast that really spoke to my heart.

I know, the suspense is killing you…so here is my very first Friday Favorites…

  1. This gadget is saving my life right now. Do you have one? If not YOU need this in your life! As a part of my health & wellness goals, I am trying not to have an alcohol Monday thru Friday (5 o’clock to be exact :) Don’t judge me…I love a glass of wine with dinner especially a glass of red wine on a cold winter night. It’s just cozy to me. Anyhow, I have taken a liking to mocktails and my absolute favorite one is a freshly squeezed grapefruit, diet tonic water & a spring of rosemary. So good!

  2. Many of you know that I am a boy mom and if you stick around long you will see I am a podcast junkie. lol I LOVE LOVE LOVE Monica Swanson’s Boy Mom Podcast. It is so good. I look forward to every Tuesday when she releases a new episode. If you have not listened I am sharing an episode that I recently listened to that I think is applicable to ALL MOMS! Seriously, this info is so applicable to all of us. Praying for our kiddos is a full time job, but Brooke & Monica give some great tips that are for the momma with a toddler or a teenager! Take a listen here!

  3. I have watched more TV this winter than I think I did for 5 years! We have not had much going on and we just got cable for the first time in 12 years. My boys are loving HGTV & I love watching it with them! One show I have binge watched & truly enjoy the opportunity each week to sit, relax, drink some wine er I mean a mocktail and watch is “This is Us.” I am curious, have you watched it? If not, what are you watching? Seriously though, this down time has been good for me and while I used to feel guilty watching TV, I now realize I need to have some unwind time each day with a good book or a good show.

  4. I am not a fan of cold weather which brings me to this next item that has brought me pure joy when I cant get outside for a walk or run…my SUNNY bike. I love it. LOVE IT! The boys got it for me a year ago and I used it some last spring, but this fall it has saved my life. Seriously. I use the Peloton app and the classes are fun & encouraging! It has helped me get my workouts in, move in a warm place and I have been so blessed by it! If you are thinking of getting a bike, go check this one out on Amazon.

  5. I am in a season of life where I am trying to pull back and slow down. If you know me at all, this is hard for me. However, I have discovered that sleeping in is lovely (you must know my sleeping in is like 7 am, sometimes 8 am but this is a big deal since I used to be up between 4:30-5 am most days of the week). Since stepping away from my early morning fitness class after a back injury in late September I have been focusing on my health. Rest was something I desperately needed to incorporate. I have to admit that I have truly enjoyed this slower pace and it has been a blessing to me, spirit, mind & body. You don’t have to buy it & we all have access to it. It is an important part of our wellness journey, so take advice from me friend and get some rest!

Well there you have it…5 of my favorites this week! I hope this is fun & helpful to you! Be sure to subscribe to my blog so you don’t miss out on these each week! Have a fantastic weekend!
