MOTIVATED By MORE ?Holiday Challenge

The holidays are quickly approaching!!  I don't know about you, but the holidays to me are a wonderful, magical, and fun time of year. However in then past they also add extra stress, mile-long to do lists, busy schedules which result in less sleep, poor eating and little exercise. This year my goal is to do it differently. I heard a quote recently and it changed my heart. "Keep my hustle holy." There is a lot of hustle in the holidays and I want to keep it holy. I want to relish in the moments with friends & family. I

Be Still.

Last year I had an injury that I struggled with for almost ten months.  It was frustrating, uncomfortable and time consuming.  I tried many things to heal my muscles and finally had great success in physical therapy. As a lover of fitness and athlete in my younger years, it was hard to adapt to moving in a different way.  Therapy was a very humbling experience.  I was used to doing sprints, burpees, kettle bell swings, and a variety of other exercises that required big, fast moves, yet I was told to pull back and try a new way.  It was

The “Perfect” Plan

Today I woke early so I could get a few things done before heading to the gym. I was looking forward to coming home from the gym so I could get the boys off to school and get myself ready for our 1st MOPS meeting of the year (I love the MOPS community in my town. If you are not a part of a MOPS group go check into it here:  http://www.mops.org Its amazing!!). I had my whole day planned. After the MOPS meeting I was going to go to the grocery store because we are out of everything. Seriously,

Drive Thru: Quick, Convenient, Void of Commitment

Max Lucado describes himself as a prayer wimp. I have a similar condition; I suffer from DTB. It is a self-inflicted disease, but curable. Let me give you some background on this affliction and how you too, might be a bona fide Drive Through Believer: Each morning, I pull into the drive through lane at my local fast food emporium for my large Diet Coke and some sort of breakfast item. I get breakfast on the go; it’s convenient to pull up to the window, order, pay, stick a straw in it and dispose of my breakfast dishes once I

Let it Go

Today has been one of those Mondays.  The kind of Monday where you gotta laugh because if you don’t you are gonna crack.  It started at midnight when a game of “bed hopping” began with my 6 & 8 year olds boys.  Six & eight.  Friends…when does this stop?!  They did not do this as babies or toddlers, but in the last year they get up in the night and can’t sleep, they want to lay with us, they had a bad dream, they need a drink…I want to say “Go read a book, count sheep, pretend you are starring

Summertime!

Summer is my favorite time of year. We live in the Midwest & while I do enjoy every season, summer is my favorite. To me summer is sunshine, warm air, boating, homemade ice cream (that could be a post all by itself!), kids sleeping in, kids staying up late, fireworks, boat rides, baseball games, beautiful sun sets, coffee on the patio, swimming, cookouts, bags (or corn holes, depending on where you are from), bike rides, paddle board yoga, and fresh produce. The list could go on & on! Summer is pure joy! In addition to all that is listed above,
