Join my 6-week “Get Healthy for Summer” Challenge

I love making a difference in the lives of others! I am launching a 6-week Get Healthy for Summer Challenge & I would love to work with you! I have been working with Erin for over a year in group fitness classes and private TRX sessions.  Recently she shared this with me: “Since I started working out with Melanie I feel so much healthier & a lot strong. But the best part is this...I can touch my toes! I’ve never been flexible and I can’t believe how much my flexibility has improved.” Erin Alderson I am excited to offer this

Zucchini Bread Muffins

This recipe is a favorite at my house.  A lot of times if they are asking for cupcakes I will make this and add a cream cheese frosting.  At least its semi-healthy then, right?! Its easy to mix and makes a big batch.  I like to make it in mini-muffin sizes too and then freeze some.  They keep great & make good snacks or are great for breakfast (pair it with a hard boiled egg & some fresh fruit and YUM!  A great way to start the day!) So here are the players... 3 eggs 1 Cup sugar (FYI I

Protein Packed Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies

A few years ago a friend introduced this recipe to me.  I LOVED it!  It tasted good, was semi-healthy and a little bit went a long way.  I was so excited to share this recipe with some friends who were very health conscientious and were coming over for dinner.   They saw the dessert I had prepared (I baked it in a pie dish, cause I am fancy like that) and were excited to try my new recipe.  I did  not share what was in it until after they had enjoyed a few bites.  They loved it...until they heard it

Flourless Sweet Potato Brownie

I recently made these for my kids to try.  As they watched me make them they were not sure they would be edible.  :)  But who was begging to try one as soon as they came out of the oven?  Yes, you guessed it, both the boys!  They smell and look just like a regular chocolate brownie.  If you are really needing an extra treat, top with some ice cream!  YUM! The players... 1/2 Cup Tahini Paste (or WOW butter or almond butter) 1/2 Cup cooked sweet potato 1 egg 6 tbsp honey 1/4 c unsweetened cocoa powder 2 tsp

The Monday Morning hustle

Happy Monday?  Its always said with a question isnt it?  Today is no different as we all wake up with some snow dusting on the ground...in April. But at least my backyard doesn't look like this! That is my sisters house in MN.  I would definitely pull the covers over my head & go back to bed...for 6 more weeks.  Because lets be real.  Even if God blesses us with warm temps and sunshine next week, the lakes have been cold to frozen since November, which means the lakes won't be warm enough to dip a toe into them until

Sausage & Hash Brown Mini-Frittatas

This recipe has been in my family for a long time.  My sister Jennifer first introduced it to us years ago and it has continued to be a go to breakfast.  It is not dairy-free.  It is not carb-free.  I cook for 2 very hungry growing boys (ages 7 & 10) and carb free isn't a part of our language.  You can however make it gluten-free (my sister has Celiac and this is one of her go to breakfast recipes that the entire family can enjoy)!  I encourage you to double or triple the recipe because these are not only

No Bake Energy Bites

These are easy to make & a crowd pleaser!  My friend Liz gave me this recipe and it is a go to staple for my house, especially during football and baseball season.  Kids and grown-ups gobble these up!  Honestly it will take you 15 minutes tops to make these.  They keep in the fridge for 10 days...if they last that long!   1 Cup Toasted Old Fashioned Oats (toast in oven for 10 minutes at 375 degrees) 1/2 Cup Peanut butter (or any other nut butter, my favorite is Almond Butter) 1/3 C Honey 1 Cup Toasted Coconut Flakes (you

Well, for me it is ?I’ve been praying a lot the past year “God is this where you want me?” Every time I think of throwing the towel in He affirms I’m right where I’m supposed to be in this season of life. So then I ask Him “Why is my business not bigger?” Or “Am I making a difference?” Again He affirms that YES I’m making a difference in the lives of those I train, coach & teach, AND more importantly an audience of 1 is
