The Wilderness

“And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.”

Ephesians 6:10-12 MSG

I love it when God sends me a message over & over.  It’s like he’s saying “hey Melanie, did you get that?  Are you listening?”

My response:  “Yes God…sometimes I’m slow to get things, distracted, hard of hearing, but thanks for not giving up on me…I’m starting to get it.”

This verse speaks to me in many ways.  First, the visual…it was a choice @youversion already designed, but regardless this picture took me to the devotionals I have read this past month with @revelationwellness as we have dug into the theme “the wilderness.”

Do you ever feel like God brought you to the wilderness?  And you’re there because you know that’s where you should be but yet you sorta want to go back, because it’s “easier” or what you are familiar with…however you know deep down that what is on the other side of this season of being in the wilderness is gonna be better than what you can imagine?!  ??‍♀️um yeah that would be for like the past 10 years! ?funny, not funny.  I feel since having kids & turning to God in these unknown waters so much has changed.  I left my career, started in home daycare, which I’m convinced was an out-of-body experience because looking back I don’t know how I did it.  Ha! Then I started a fitness ministry, returned to personal training and now I’m teaching MS PE!?  What???  I’ve learned so much & Gods taking me in a beautiful ride…but let’s be honest, who some days wishes you could look in a glass ball and get a 5 year glimpse??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️just a glimpse please?

No let’s talk the verse…

“Put in the armor of God”

In Heir to the Crown devotional Alisa wrote – which I just read Sunday night – “As children of God and royal heirs to the Crown, we have forgiveness, mercy and grace as the weapons of our warfare.”

The armor of God…materials made to withstand any of the schemes of Satan.  He has not only equipped Me, YOU, the Israelites and all others who have said “YES” to Jesus…

But, He goes before us.

This helps to make the wilderness not so scary.  It’s comforting to know that while the wilderness can be scary, there is a land of milk & honey on the other side.

In His time❤️

Not sure about all this talk about the wilderness?  I encourage you to spend a few minutes each day, quiet, walking, sitting or laying down.  Clear your mind and pray.  Talk to God.  Listen for Him.  Place all thoughts on connecting with Him.  The more time you seek Him or spend time with Him, the better you get to know Him, and can let go & let God lead the way!

Have a blessed day✌?❤️??
